Know thyself
We all know others. We all know what the other person is thinking. We all know whether the other person is good or bad. We all know that the other person is right or wrong. We all know what the other person should or should not do. We all know whether the belief or ideology of the other person is right or wrong. We are quick, super quick in judging others...
But, in this whole process of thinking about others, we forget to ask ourselves a very important question. Do we know ourselves??? How many of us take a pause and reflect on who we are, what are our beliefs and ideologies, what we should or should not be doing, what are our strengths and weaknesses. What makes us happy or unhappy and how we can be more happier by identifying ourselves!
Do this exercise, and see your life change for better. Take a sheet of paper and make four columns
1. List down all your strengths.. for example if you are good at writing, write "I write really well", If you are good at singing, write "I sing well". If you have a sharp memory, write "I have sharp memory", etc. etc. Think through deep and write down atleast 5-10 major strengths. It can be anything small or big. Don't shy away in listing. No one is looking at this list except you.
2. List down your weaknesses. If you get angry or offended easily, write it. If you generally procrastinate, write it. If you are not organized, write it. If you are a people pleaser, write it. etc. etc.
3. List down what makes you happy. Your friends, family, movies, travelling, partying, newer experiences etc.
4. List down your energy drainers. Some people, activities or routine tasks that drain your energy etc.
Deep dive and be in no hurry to make the above list. Take your time. Make the list in quiet time and place so that there is no distraction. You will be amazed by the revelations, this simple act of listing down can bring to you.
Happy discovering and see you in next post..
