Are you happy?



Hey you Happy Soul,

They say that 'Happiness is a state of mind'.  Yes, agreed!. But do we depend on our mind all the time to make us feel happy?

Let's change the narrative to  "Happiness is an act of self", which means that we don't depend on our mind to feel happy and can take certain actions everyday to keep ourselves fulfilled.  These actions will keep our mind and body happy and healthy.

Further to 'Know Thyself" post, make a list of all the things which make you happy, that you can do on a day to day basis.  For example.

1. Playing with your Pet

2. Cooking a new dish

3. Coffee date with a friend

4. Shopping

5. Random act of kindness

6. Dancing

etc. etc.  As you will start making this list, you will find out that there are so many things that we can do easily on daily basis without much effort.  Once you have made the list, fill up your day with activities of your choice.  Take out some time everyday  and see how magically your life changes.  

There are certain things/events which are not in our control and can make us unhappy but stressing about them wouldn't solve any problem.  RELAX.  Take baby steps.  Don't try to do everything at once.  In few days, you will realize that you are sleeping better, your mood is better, you are becoming more focused and happy and eventually your health will start becoming better and better.

Life is no rocket science and there is no manual which teaches us to be happy.  We have to find our own happiness.  Remember this 'You are not born to be or remain unhappy".  You are born to enjoy this precious gift of life.
